Re: What are the various streams in Science?
There are two types of science studies at +2 level.
It is generally opted by candidates, wants to become an Engineer. Thats because for becoming an Engineer Mathematics is the basic requirement. About Impure Science It is generally opted by candidates, wants to become a Doctor. Thats because for becoming an Doctor Biology is the basic requirement. Regards ~Faiyaz~ |

Re: What are the various streams in Science?
India Today-AC Nelson-ORG-Marg Survey of Colleges (1997-2008):
1. Arts Colleges: Loyola, Chennai, St. Xaviers, Mumbai, Presidency, Kolkata, St. Stephens, Delhi, LSR, Delhi and MCC Chennai are among the top colleges as evident from last 12 years survey results. Except MCC, all other colleges secured either first, second or third rank once or more than once in the last 12 years. MCC could secure only third place in the year 2002. 2. Science Colleges: Same colleges gained access to top three slots in science stream excluding LSR, Delhi. In the Science stream, MCC, Chennai, occuped the top slot once (2003) in 12 years. 3. Commerce Colleges: SRCC Delhi ruled the scene in all the 12 years. The second or 3rd place was occupied by same college (listed in Arts and Science stream). B M College of Commerce, Pune and St. Joseph's (Commerce), Banglore secured each third rank once in 12 years. MCC, Chennai did not have entry in commerce stream. 4. Law Colleges: Except years 2008 and 2005, NLSIU, Banglore ranked first in all other years. NALSAR, Hyderabad secured first rank in 2008 and ILS, Pune in the year 2005. Other colleges securing either second or third ranks were UCL, Banglore, Campus Law centre, DU, NLIU, Bhopal, Symbiosis Law College, Pune, Faculty of Law, BHU, Govt. College of Law, Mumbai, and Law College, Pune. 5. Engineering Colleges: Different IIT's secured all the three top ranks. Other than IIT's, only BITS Pilani could secure third rank twice (2001 & 2002) in the 12 years surveys. 6. Colleges of Medicine: AIMMS, Delhi secured first rank in all the years except 2002. In that particular year, CMC, Vellore, gained access to the top rank. Other colleges having access to either second or third place included AFMC, Pune, BMC, Banglore, SIMC, Banglore, KMC Mumbai, LNMC, Delhi and JIPMER, Puducherry |

hii
the various streams in Science There are two types of science studies at +2 level. Pure Science: this contains subject combination of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics popularly known as PCM + further 2 - 3 subject out of which one should be language etc. that doesn't matters. The thing makes it 'Pure Science' is Mathematics. Impure Science: this contains subject combination of Physics, Chemistry and Biology popularly known as PCB + further 2 - 3 subject out of which one should be language etc. that doesn't matters. The thing makes it 'Impure Science' is Biology. Science Colleges: Same colleges gained access to top three slots in science stream excluding LSR, Delhi. Re: What are the various streams in Science?
Two streams are there in science. One stream includes Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology. Second stream includes Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Computer Science. Languages are included in both of these streams. Both of these streams are capable of offering good career options.

Re: What are the various streams in Science?
Now-a-days, science is not only a mere 'science' stream(PCMB)...it has also been divided into many sub-streams like:
Pure science, Bio-science, Eco-science etc. Pure Science consists of Physics, Chemistry, Maths (PCM) as the main subjects. It is mainly preferable by those who are interested in doing 'engineering' in future.. Bio-science consists of Physics, Chemistry, Biology (PCB) as the main subjects. It is mostly preferred by them, who want to join medical in their graduation. Eco-Science consists of an extra or additional subject Geography.. It is for those who are interested in Geography but equally interested in other science subjects. This is a new field and their demand is also increasing. and if you take only science i.e., Physics, Chemistry, Maths and Biology (PCMB), then you can go for any one field between, engineering and medical. So choose a stream which will be appropriate for you........ |

Re: What are the various streams in Science?
You can either study bio science or pure science. The former consists of the subject combinations like physics, chemistry and biology. For the latter the subject combination is physics, chemistry and mathematics. If you want to be a doctor or want to pursue a bio-related course then you should go for the combination with biology in it. Otherwise for becoming an engineer its better to go for the second combination.
Good luck |

Re: What are the various streams in Science?
Yes. You can get into Science field after completion of your 10th class. There are number of courses that you can join in Science field.
As you are interested to join Science stream, I suggest you to opt for Bi.P.C stream in your 10+2. In this course, you will come across the subjects Botany Zoology Physics Chemistry Once you complete your 10+2, you will be eligible to join number of courses like MBBS BDS Veterinary Pharmacy courses like -D.Pharmacy -B.Pharmacy B.Sc Nursing B.Sc Agriculture etc. All these are valuable courses for the candidates to have great career. You can also join 3 year Graduation level courses in B.Sc with any of the following subjects Biotechnology Microbiology Botany Zoology Bio-Informatics Bio-Chemistry Genetics etc. But, in India it is somewhat difficult to settle in life by opting for Science related courses when compared to other courses. Keep this in mind and opt for the respective course accordingly. Wish you all the best. |
