GPSC stands for Gujarat Public Service Commission. They conducts a civil service exam every year for the following posts:-

• Gujarat Administrative Service, Class-I and Gujarat Civil Service Class-I & Class-II
• Class-I and Class-II posts of Gujarat Service of Engineering (Civil)
• Gujarati Reporter, Class-II, Gujarat Legislative Secretariat
• English Reporter, Class-II, Gujarat Legislative Secretariat
• Hindi Reporter, Class-II, Gujarat Legislative Secretariat
• Private Secretary, (Gujarati Stenographer, Grade-I), Class-II
• Range Forest Officer, Class-II
• Legal Assistant, Class-III and so on.

To sit for this examination following criteria needs to be fulfilled:-

• You need to be a citizen of India.
• You need to complete graduation in any discipline of your choice from a recognized university.
• The minimum age limit for this exam is 21 years and the upper age limit is 28 years.

The application form for this examination will be available from the office of the commission. The application form can also be downloaded from the official website and a photocopy of that needs to be retained.

The cost of the application form is not more than fifty rupees for the general category candidates. However, the SC/ST candidates dont need to pay the application form fee or the examiantion fee.

Just like any other civil service exam in this exam as well there is a preliminary stage exam which is then followed by a main examination. The ones who pass the preliminary stage are then allowed to sit for this main exam. The selected candidates are then called for an interview session.

Total No. of Positions : 733 Positions
Closing Date for Online Application: 31st March, 2015
Screening Test is 21st June, 2015.

Unfortunately this year's last date for applying for this examination is already over. And if you have not applied for this year's exam then dont lose heart over it. You can again give this exam with renewed energy and vigour next year.
