Re: Who all can apply for IAS? What is the percentage required?
Anybody with a graduation degree can apply for the Indian Administrative Service exam. The marks you have scored in graduation are irrelevant since they are not considered.
Coming to second part of your question. You can certainly apply for the Civil Services Examination in Hindi. In fact Hindi and English are the two languages in which the exam is conducted. But despite that there will be a written test on English as well. You can not skip it and therefore should prepare for it. If your English is weak then read english newspapers, watch English shows, news, movies to help you improve it. You can also take English classes to improve your command over the language. Once you have prepared for the entrance exam, apply for the Civil Services Examination. The registration is done during the first 2-3 months of the year. Union Public Service Commission releases a notification after which registration begins. After the registration is over the first stage is preliminary exam which is conducted in May. Here you will appear for 2 written tests but the score of these exams will not be included in final score tally. This stage is only conducted to qualify for the second stage called Main Examination. The Main Examination is conducted in August and there are 9 written tests in it. It is followed by the personal interview. IAS Eligibility 1. Only Indian nationals are eligible to apply. 2. You should have completed a minimum of bachelor's degree. 3. There is no marks criteria. 4. Only candidates of 21 to 30 years age group are eligible. 5. The age criteria is 21 to 33 years for OBC. 6. SC/ST should be of 21 to 35 years age group. 7. No physical criteria for IAS. Exam Pattern 1. Preliminary Examination > General Studies > Optional Subject 2. Main Examination > English > Essay > Languages > General Studies > General Studies > Optional Subject 1 > Optional Subject 1 > Optional Subject 2 > Optional Subject 2 3. Personal Interview |
