Applying for summer training, while pursuing a degree course is indeed a good option. Since you are doing the degree course in ECE it would not be a problem in getting placed in a firm. There are lots of companies where you can apply for summer training. Most of the top IT companies like Infosys; Wipro etc have policies of taking candidates for summer training. You can also apply for the various Government aided organizations like DRDO, ISRO HAL etc.
