TET stands for TEACHER Eligibility TEST.

TET exam is conducted at state level by various state boards.

ELIGIBILITY ;

In order to appear in TET exam you should have to complete your graduation from a recognized university and you must have B.Ed degree.

There is no upper age limit for this exam.

Also there is no limit for no. of attempts.

You have to score minimum 60 percent in the TET test to qualify for teaching jobs.

Exam pattern ;

In this exam consist 2 papers with objective type questions

Paper I: those who want to become teachers for classes I-V.

Paper II: those who want to teach classes between VI and VIII.

Paper I and II: For those who are interested in teaching from Class I to VIII will have to appear and qualify in both the papers.

Syllabus for TET exam:

There are five subjects

Mathematics

Language I

Environmental studies

Language II

Child development and pedagogy

IF B com marks are less than 50 %
an M com marks are greater than 50 %

Can one become a teacher without b.ed? because to do B.ed from IGNOU for example requires u to be a teacher. So how does one manage this reqirement?

Sorry you can't apply for TET if you don't have B.Ed qualification.If you are thinking that you are going to apply for TET and clear it without B.Ed then you are surely not doing the right thing.

You can get teachers job in private schools on temporary basis which will give you teaching experience which is essential for getting admission into IGNOU B.Ed course.

TET qualified candidates are eligible for job in Government schools on a permanent basis and they have a job which will have transfers from time to time.

Private schools can give you job as an teacher on the basis of Graduation if there is shortage of teaching staffs in schools. If you want to do teaching is some private schools then surely you can get job on the basis of your Graduation.

But nowadays there are lot of B.Ed candidates available so it will be very difficult for you to get job as an teacher on the basis of Graduation in private schools.

So if you want to get a Government teachers job in schools then you have to take admission into B.Ed and complete it with 50% marks then apply for TET.

TET is conducted on state level as well as on Central level. If you want teachers job in government schools of your state then apply for State level TET.

If you want to get teaching job in Central Government schools then you have to apply for CTET which is conducted by CBSE.

I have completed my graduation in BE n worked for software companies but now I want to go for teaching
So with out b ed can I go for teaching in schools

NO you not become a teacher if you not have B.ed degree.
if you qualifie the TET exam and you not have B.ed degree then you can not become a school teacher because this is the new rule of NCTE, That's why you not become teacher in primary school.
so I suggest you if you want to become school teacher then do B.ed course from any approved instution.

i want to make sure if doing bed from ignou is respectable comparing bed from any central uni.. second thing what is the difference b/w tet btc pgt and what are other options to become teacher for higher classes apart from phd and mphil.
