Am I eligible to apply for Indian Forest Service exam being a 32 years old OBC candidate?


Hello
I am 32 years old M.Sc qualified student.
I come under OBC category.
Can I apply for Indian Forest Services exam?

IFS - Indian Forest Service examination is held by the Union Public Service Commission(UPSC).

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

* A candidate must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 32 years on 01 August 2014 i.e., he must have been born not earlier than 02 August 1982 and not later than 01 August 1993.

Yes, you can apply for Indian Forest Service examination being a 32 years old OBC candidate. The Indian Forest Service examination is conducted by UPSC every year for the recruitment of officers in Forest department. Eligibility criteria required to appear in Indian Forest Service examination is mentioned below :-

Eligibility criteria :-
1. You must be a citizen of India.

2. You must have completed Bachelor's degree or equivalent with at least one of the subjects namely Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics and Zoology or a Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture or Forestry or Engineering from a recognised university.

3. The minimum age required to appear in IFS examination is 21 years and the maximum age limit is 30 years. Upper age relaxation is applicable to reserved category candidates as per government rules as mentioned below :-
--> OBC :- 3 Years
--> SC/ST :- 5 Years

Since, you have not crossed the age limit of 33 years, being a 32 years old candidate, you can appear in IFS examination.

Selection Procedure :-
1. Written Test
2. Personal Interview

As per OBC category, you are eligible for Indian Forest Service exam. Because three year age relaxation is provided for OBC candidates. So you can apply Indian Forest Service exam exam upto 30+3=33 years.

IFS stands for Indian Forest Service exam. This exam is conducted by UPSC.

Those candidates who have completed graduation degree from a recognized university in Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics and Zoology or a degree in Agriculture or Forestry or Engineering are eligible for IFS exam.

Final year student are also eligible for IFS exam,

Your age should be in between 21 to 30 years. Age relaxation is provided for SC/ST/OBC candidate category.

Pattern for IFS exam:-

Paper I:- General English (300 marks)
Paper II:- General Knowledge (300 marks)
Paper III-VI:- Any two selected optional subject (200 marks for each paper)
Personality Test:- 300 marks
