Indian Forest Service, Statistics Paper I Papers
Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) holds examination of Indian Forest Service (IFS) which recruits candidates in Forest Services, India. Examination is conducted on national level and it is very competitive. After IAS & IPS, this is the most respectable job in India.
Qualification for appearing in this exam:
A candidate must have a degree of graduation from a recognised board or University. Candidates also required being a citizen of India. No. of attempts which can be made by candidates are 4. However there is a relaxation for SC/ST candidates. Impersonation is checked very strictly and UPSC is very strict about it.
Scoring and Negative Marking:
Each question carries 40 marks in it. Paper is of subjective type and hence there is no negative marking it.
Mode of Exam:
Examination is a subjective one and students are required to answer these questions with pen.
Format:
Paper is subjective one and each question is divided into 4 sub-questions of equal marks. Questions may be of numerical and theoretical type.
Paper Pattern:
Paper of Indian Forest Service, Statistics I is of subjective questions. There are 8 questions in it; these questions are divided equally in 2 sections. From each section, question no. 1 & 5 are compulsory to be solved; remaining 3 questions are to be chosen taking at-least 1 question from each section. Each question is of equal marks.
Marking:
These questions are of equal marks containing 4 sub-questions of equal marks. Marks are given on the basis of content of answer. Total marks are 200 in the paper.
Schedule:
Time span of the paper is 3 hours only.
