Re: Can i become an IPS officer with defective eyes?
No, I am sorry to say that you cannot opt for IPS examination as your vision is not even close to what they ask for in candidates before even applying for the written examination. Even your height is quite below level that is required,
Therefore, it is quite not possible for you become and IPS officer. |

Re: Can i become an IPS officer with defective eyes?
The police services are divided into Technical services and Non-Technical services. Technical services include IRTS, IPS, DANI PS, CISF and RPF whereas Non-Technical services include IAS, IFS and other central services.
For Technical services, the candidate should need a good eye and correction is allowed only by spectacle or glasses. For Non-Technical services, the candidate should not need a good eye and correction is applicable by Lasik surgery or Radial Keratotamy. The candidate can have upto +4.00 D including cylinder for non-pathological myopia. The candidate should have 6/6 or 6/9 distant vision for good eye and 6/9 or 9/12 for the worst eye. Candidate must have high standard for Colour blind test and should not have inherent blindness. |

Re: Can i become an IPS officer with defective eyes?
You must have to fulfill below given eye sight criteria to appear in the IPS exam >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
::::: Eye sight – 6/6 or 6/9 distant vision for good eye. ::::: 6/12 or 6/9 for worst eye. Near vision J 1 for good eye. J2 for worst eye. Your eye vision with specs must follow the above criteria. Your height is perfect for the IPS eligibility. |
