Junior Assistant (Fire Service) Recruitment in AAI 2013 – Eligibility and Recruitment Process
Airport Authority of India (AAI) has recently invited applications for the profile of ‘Junior Assistant (Fire Service)’ in different airports of northern region. Diploma holders or HSC passed candidates with a minimum of 50% marks can participate in the selection process. Selection of eligible candidates is made through written test, physical measurement, driving test, endurance test, and interview.
Eligibility Criteria for Junior Assistant (Fire Service) Recruitment in AAI
Pass in HSC with a minimum of 50% marks is the educational qualification required. Those who pass 10th class studies and diploma are also eligible to apply. Diploma course must be completed in subjects like Mechanical Engineering, Automobile Engineering, or Fire Service. Percentage of marks required is 50. The upper age limit of the applicant is 30 years. Three year relaxation in maximum age is given for OBC candidates. SC/ST candidates can have 5 year relaxation in upper age limit.
A valid driving license is required for the applicant. Candidate must produce a valid driving license at the time of driving test. The driving license obtained must be of any of the following.
- Valid Medium Vehicle License issued at least one year before as on 15.10.2013
- Valid Heavy Vehicle Driving License
- Valid LMV License issued at least two years before as on 15.10.2013
Weightage will be given for candidates having any of following qualifications.
- Basic Fire Fighting Training Course from AAI Fire Training Establishment
- Computer Science as subject at HSC level
- NCC ‘B’ Certificate
- Relevant experience in an aviation/regular/industrial fire service
- Sub Fire Officer Course from National Fire Service College, Nagpur
Apart from educational qualifications, candidates must satisfy certain physical standards also. The eye sight of the applicant must be of the following standards.
- Distance Vision – 6/6 at Both Eyes without Glasses.
- Near Vision – N5 in Both Eyes without glasses.
- Color Vision – Should be Normal as determined by Ischihara’s charts
Applicant’s height must not be less than 167cm. The chest width should be 81 cm, with a minimum expansion of 5cms. Speech and hearing should be normal. Weight must not be less than 55kg.
Selection Process for Junior Assistant (Fire Service) in AAI
The selection of eligible candidates is made through the following stages.
- Written test
- Physical Measurement
- Driving test
- Endurance test
- Interview
Those who pass the written test are allowed to appear for driving test/physical endurance test. Candidates clearing all the stages of selection process are exposed to a training course of four months. Only after successful completion of the course, candidates will be appointed as ‘Junior Assistant’. During training, candidates will be provided with stipend as per the rules.
