Eligibility criteria to get job in Forest department?
Sir/Mam,
Iam studying B.E final year (CIVIL) I am very interested to work in forest department, since its my childhood dream to become a "Forest Officer" so please let me know how can I get jobs in forest department and what kind of jobs I am eligible for...? |

To become Forest Officer, the candidate has to write the Indian Forest Services (IFS) exam which is conducted by Union Public Service Commission (UPSC).
ELIGIBILITY : * Candidate must be citizen of India. * Candidate can be either a subject of Nepal, Bhutan. * Candidates age should range between 21 years to 30 years. * Age relaxation of 5 years for SC/ ST and 3 years for OBC candidates are applicable. EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS : * The candidates must hold a bachelor's degree with any one of the subjects mentioned below. Animal Husbandry and Veterinary science, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics and Zoology, Agriculture, Forestry, Agriculture Engineering, Forestry Engineering. The degree should be granted from any recognized Universities or Institution. SELECTION PROCESS : * Preliminary examination. * Mains examination. * Interview. |

Yes you can apply for various jobs in Forest jobs with B.Tech Civil Engineering. You can go though both in Technical as well as General departments. For this you need to register UPSC IFS Examination.

Sorry, friend As a Civil engineering student you are eligible for IFS exam. UPSC conducts the Indian Forest Service (IFS) exams every year. For appearing in the IFS exam Eligibility is required namely minimum age and educational qualification, etc. Eligibility for IFS exam : Age Limit : General category-21-30yrs on 1st July of year of examination OBC-21-33yrs SC/ST-21-35yrs Educational Qualification : A Bachelors Degree with at least one of the subjects namely Animal Husbandary & Veteinery Science, Botany Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics and Zoology or Bachelors Degree Agriculture or Forestry or Enginering of a recognised University or equivalent.
