I want to be a District Collector. So i want to know about the procedure to become a district collector?

One who wishes to become a District collector has to appear for the Civil Services Exam conducted by the UPSC .

The eligibility criteria required to appear for the Civil Services Exam are as under :-

-The candidate should be a citizen of India.

-The candidate must have passed graduation degree in any discipline from a recognized university .The candidate who are pursuing final year of their degree course can also apply for the exam.

-Age limit to apply for the exam is from 21 years to 32 years for general category.There is relaxation in upper age limit by 3 years for OBC candidates and 5 years for SC/ST candidates.

-The no. of attempts for the exam is 4 times for general category under the creamy layer,7 times for OBC candidates and no limits for SC/ST candidates.

The selection process for the post involves of

* Preliminary Exam

* Main exam

* Personality Interview.

The procedure is as below:

1. First of all become eligible for the entrance exam of District collector which is Civil Services examination conducted by the UPSC.

Any graduate in the age limit 21-32 years can apply for the exam.

2. After that apply for the exam at official website of UPSC www.upsconline.nic.in. Then appear for the various stages like preliminary exam, mains exam and interview.

When you will clear all the three stages, you will go for training and after some years of service, you will be posted as district collector.

To become the district collector the candidates only have to appear and qualify in the civil service examination conducted by the UPSC every year.

To appear for the examination the required eligibility criteria is candidates must have passed the graduation from any recognised university and the age between the 21-32 years.

If you have the above qualification you can appear for the examination. After appearing in the examination you have to qualify in all the three stages of examination for the final selection.

I am pleased with your determination and desire but to fulfill it you have to work hard as to become the district collector the candidates have to qualify in the civil services examination.

Civil services examination is conducted by the UPSC. The eligibility to appear for the examination is :-
* Candidates must have passed the graduation from the recognised university.
* Candidates age must be between 21-32 years and relaxation in the age for the reserved category.

After appearing in the examination you have to qualify in all the three stages of the examination before the final selection for the services. The examination for the firs stages will be conducted in the August.

So you can start the preparation for the examination all other details are available at the official website www.upsc.gov.in.
