Default Re: Retired class I Gazetted officers can do Attestation of Xerox copies?

Yes, retired Class I Gazetted officers are generally authorized to attest Xerox copies of documents. The Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) has issued guidelines for attestation of documents, which include retired officers of Class I Gazetted rank.

However, it is important to note that the attestation of Xerox copies by retired officers is subject to certain conditions and limitations. For example, the officer must have held a Class I Gazetted rank at the time of retirement, and the attestation must be done in their personal capacity, not in an official capacity. Additionally, retired officers are not authorized to attest documents related to any matter in which they have a personal interest.
