Respected Sir, I want to become an IAS officer, I want to know what is the qualification criteria required to apply for IAS post? What is the age limit for the same? Please answer as soon as possible.

The eligibility criteria such as educational qualification, age limit, etc., required to apply for IAS examination is mentioned below :-

1. You should have passed Bachelor's degree or an equivalent examination from a recognised university.

2. You should be at least 21 to 32 years old. Upper age relaxation is applicable to reserved category candidates as per government rules.

3. You should be an Indian National.

Those candidates who have completed graduation in any discipline from a recognized university are eligible for IAS exam.

Your age should be in between 21 to 32 years

For SC/ST: No Restriction

IAS stands for Indian Administrative Services. The qualification required IAS entrance examination is as below:

1. The minimum academic qualification required for Civil Services examination is graduation in any stream from a recognised university. Final year graduation candidates can also apply for examination.

2. The age limit for general category candidate is 21-32 years. Three years upper age relaxation to OBC candidates and five years to SC/ST candidates.

Educational Qualification Required to apply for IAS Examination:

The basic educational qualification required to apply for IAS Examination is "Graduate Degree" or a Bachelor Degree in any discipline from a recognized university.

>> Graduate Degree of the universities incorporated by an Act of the state or central legislature in India.

>> The maximum age limit allowed for General Category candidates is 32 years

>> Maximum age limit for OBC category candidates is 32 years with 3 years age relaxation

>> Maximum age limit for SC/ ST is 32 years with 5 years of age relaxation

>> For PWD candidates there is an age relaxation of 10 years so with this maximum age must not exceed 42 years

I.A.S stands for Indian Administrative Service and for recruitment as an Officer the candidates have to appear and qualify in Civil Service examination.

The examination is conducted every year by UPSC. The eligibility to appear for examination is :-

Candidate must have passed bachelor degree from a recognised university.

Candidate's age must be between 21-32 years with relaxation in age limit for reserved category.
