Re: Which is the best graduation course before the IAS preparations?
You can choose any graduation course as per your interest before the IAS preparations.
To be eligible for IAS exams candidate must have completed his/her graduation in any stream from any recognised university. According to me you should select B.A or B.Com or B.Sc course. As you will get more time for the preparation for the IAS exams if you select these courses. |

Re: Which is the best graduation course before the IAS preparations?
IAS stands for the Indian Administrative Services. Union Public Service Commission conducts Civil Services examination for the different services like IAS, IPS, IRS etc. You must be a graduate in the age range of 21-32 years to appear for this exam.
First of all see the examination pattern of Civil Services: 1. Preliminary examination. 2. Mains examination. 3. Personal interview. In preliminary examination, questions are from general awareness, science and knowledge. One paper is of Civil Services Aptitude test. Mains have nine papers to be cleared including language papers, papers from optional subject etc. Interview is of 275 marks which is the last stages. Now if you will see the questions asked in preliminary and mains general knowledge paper, majority of questions are from: >>Political science >>Economics. >>History. >>Geography. >>General science. You will have to select an optional subject from which two papers of 300 marks will be there in mains exam. There are various optional subjects available to take like political science, history, economics, geography, mathematics etc. So, you must choose that subject in which you have interest keeping in mind that it will assist you in preliminary exam, mains GS papers and in optional paper also. You can select that subject in graduation which you would like to select as optional paper for Civil Services mains exam. |
