It is really inspiring to see your educational qualification and work experience. It is really a milestone to have MSc, M.Phil degree along with experience of eight years in the field of teaching. But it is quite unfortunate that you were disqualified for the post of teaching in engineering college even though the technical colleges are facing a shortage o teachers.

Since you have done M.Phil in distance mode, so you are not eligible in any good engineering college especially the government ones. For the government ones, you need to give entrance exam to get recruited while in the private ones, it just occurs with a interview round and on the basis of educational qualification. Moreover since you are from general line, not having a BE/B.Tech or ME/M.Tech degree so they have rejected you. This is because for technical course teaching, one need to have a technical degree. The private institutions give preference to the educational qualification and opt for teachers coming from IIT or NIT background. Hence you were ruled out.

In order to be eligible for the engineering colleges, you need to pursue phd and that should be a regular degree to get more preference during the interview round. If having a background of Phd especially from a good and reputed institute, will definitely be a plus point for you and you can get easily recruited. Moreover, your remuneration will increase since you would be a Phd. Try to do phd from institutes like IIT, NIT, Jadavpur University, Thapar University, JNU to get more exposure.
