Hello Sir,
I have completed MSc(Maths), MSc(CS), M.I.E(I) in ECE and Ph.D. in Computer Science with moretahn 15 years of Experience in Mathematics & Computer Science Teaching. Now I am Professor in a Engg. college. Whether I am eligible for Professor in Engineering collage as per VI pay rules of AICTE. So I want to know whether there is any rule that M. Sc(Maths) with M.Sc(CS) with PhD in CS are not eligible to teach to B.Tech students? If yes or no, whether I can get the rules?

Yes you are eligible for becoming professor as you have master degree as well as you have done Phd. But i think you must have to clear NET exam for becoming a engineering college professor or reader.
So i think you have to appear for NET exam.

Eligibility for teaching B.Tec students after M.Sc. and M.Tec. in Computer Science? as per VI pay rules of AICTE.

Let me frame the summary to cover (at the maximum extent) the entire questions asked in this Thread.

As per UGC and AICTE's regulations

1. To teach for Engineering courses (B.E/B.Tech) one must have M.Tech
2. To teach for M.E/M.Tech one must have M.Tech + Ph.D
3. To teach for B.Sc(CS)/B.C.A/B.Sc(IT) one must have MCA + M.Phil
4. To teach for MCA/M.Sc(CS)/M.Sc(IT) one must have MCA + M.Phil + Ph.D / MCA+Ph.D

Some universities (for example VIT, Vellore) follow same rules for both Computer Science and Engineering disciplines (i.e They need an M.Tech/M.E + PhD to teach for both M.E/M.Tech engineering courses as well as for MCA/M.Sc(CS/IT) courses. This vary from university to university.

In short to teach for engineering disciplines one need engineering degree.
To teah for arts and science disciplines (MCA/M.SC[IT/CS]), one need MCA + Ph.D

These are the rules in paper. But many private institutions dont follow these rules strictly. But they are subjected to change in future and one cannot rely on their present system/standards. If AICTE and UGC are very strictly start implementing their rules and regulations, then these institutions need to adopt them.

Case 1: I have an MCA degree and want to work in an engineering college. What should I do?
Ans: Most of the universities allow MCA people to study M.Tech/M.E either in part time or in full time mode. You can finish that course and can apply to teach in engineering colleges.

Case 2: I have an MCA and M.Phil. Should I do Ph.D to start teaching for Arts and Science courses (MCA/M.Sc[CS/IT])?
Ans: As per UGC rules, you are eligible to teach for UG level courses (BCA/B.Sc[CS/IT]). To teach for P.G level course u must either have Ph.D or have NET/SET cleared.

Case 3: I have and MCA. Should I first finish M.Phil before taking up Ph.D or can I straightly start doing Ph.D?
Ans: Yes. You can straightly start doing Ph.D

Case 4: Is NET/SET is excempted for M.Phil degree holders?
Ans: No.

Case 5: Is NET/SET is excempted for Ph.D degree holders?
Ans:
If the Ph.D has been obtained by undergoing July-2009 UGC revised rules and regulations, it is excempted. For all otaher Ph.D's which were obtained before this July-2009 UGC's revised rules and regulations for Ph.D must clear NET/SET.

as minimum M.tech qualification is required for teaching B.Tech students.

but you have many other higher degrees . so you can easily get the the teaching jobs to the B.Tech students.

eligibility criteria for teaching BE students has changed with effect from march 2010 and those who are teaching before this date are eligible as per the previous norms of AICTE.

I have completed my M.Sc (Instrumentation) in 1998 and M.Phil(Instumentation) in 2006 and Ph.D(Instrumentation) in 2010, having an experience in teaching 0f 10 years for B.E electronics & Communication students . Whether I am eligible as a professor to get 6th pay scale according to AICTE Sunil

I have completed MTech in Computer Science..There is a job in Gujarat Government Commerce and Science Level Colleges for the post of Assistant Professor in Computer Science...The eligibility criteria is MASTERS degree and NET/SLET exam should be cleared...But as there is no provision for MTech students in NET/SLET exam, I have not cleared it....

Surely you are eligible for teaching the B.Tech students. Any regulation can not oppose doctrate.
If you have P.hD ,you are simply professor only. No need to qualify NET. your doctral progam in computers you are also taking care of computer science only.

Miss Dimple simple i dont know whther you know or not but the minimum degree required to even apply for M.tech is a 4 year Bachelor degree which is B.Tech/B.Arch or masters degree for other degrees like MSc/MCA etc .. so you decide what is the highest degree he has achieved . Yes,you are eligible for both govt and private sector lecturer jobs.ph.d is the qualification and you can teach your subject of ph.d.

Even Physics departments under UGC do not consider M.Sc(Electronics) for Physics(Special Paper Electronics). AICTE and UGC should not provide M.Sc(Electronics) course, if their rule do not encompass this degree for teaching. M.Sc Electronics is a very tough subject because students need to study this course with science and engineering perspective. Do not our bosses in AICTE & UGC know the value of the Post Graduate clourse in Electronic Science

Same problem for me... I have completed B.Sc and M.Sc in electronics. Then Ph.D in electronic science from central university of hyderabad. But i am not eligible to teach b.tech course in any engineering college.. what is the solution for this.....
