PhD in Microbiology is a better course as the range of Microbiology is more than that of Medical Microbiology.
The range of research also matters when it comes to the high sophistication level.
Medical Microbiology also has a lot of scope but in a limited industry.
Microbiology itself has a lot scope and has a wide range of application and use in today's world.
So PhD in Microbiology is a better option with more opportunities in the future.
