For CSIR NET you must have a Master's Degree in relevant discipline from a recognized University. There is percentage criteria also and you must have at least 55% marks in your Master's degree. There is relaxation of 5% marks for reserved category candidates.

Therefore, if you have done your Master's in Food Technology from a recognized University with 55% marks, then surely you can apply for CSIR NET.

You have to choose Life Sciences as your subjects in this exam because Food Technology is mostly related to Biological sciences. Hence, you must start preparing according to the syllabus of Life Sciences subject.
