Re: How to apply for JRF along with PhD?
J.R.F --- Junior Research Fellowship
To get into the JRF and lectureship you need to write NET(National Eligibility Test) entrance examination. This NET exam is conducted by the University Grants Commission(UGC).The maximum age must not exceed more than 28 years and there is no upper age limit for Lectureship. For the candidates from SC/ST/OBC/PWD there is an age relaxation for the reserved candidates. You must have secured a minimum of 55% in academics and NET examination is conducted twice a year.To be eligible for this you must have a Bachelor degree or Masters degree from a recognized university. So with these qualifications you need to apply for the NET examination. After qualifying the NET examination, then you will be eligible to receive the fellowship award. So mean while you need to register or enroll to the Ph.D degree. So that you can this way apply for the JRF along with the Ph.D You must need to enrol to the Ph.D in mean time of JRF.This score is basically valid for two years, remember you need to register for it with in the two years of time and is calculated from from the date of award of JRF letter.Basically 150 members of Junior Research fellowships are awarded, and 120 fellowships would be awarded. You must have good command over the general knowledge, aptitude section, scientific phenomenon and more.Remember there is also a negative marking of 0.25M will be given for each wrong answer. |
