How to become a Professor of Mathematics?


I have completed my 12th, so what would be a better course for me to become a math professor? Should i do btech or do some degree?

Procedure to become a Professor of Mathematics can be seen below.

You can go for BTech with any specialization or BSc Mathematics.

If you are going for BTech than you have to appear in GATE Mathematics.

If you are going for BSc than you have to complete BSc Mathematics and MSc Mathematics with minimum 55% than only you are eligible to appear in UGC NET.

Crack UGC NET or equivalent exam with good marks to be eligible to recruited as Assistant Professor at any recognized university.

You can apply for any recruitment for the Assistant Professor on the basis of UGC NET / GATE score.

Your final selection will be done through interview at respective university.

To become a professor of Math subject, you need to meet the given requirements:

1. You must have post-graduation in mathematics subject with minimum 55% marks from any private/government university/college.

2. You must have qualified National Eligibility Test exam.
3. You must be a citizen of India.
4. There is no age bar to become a professor.

1- Complete an undergraduate degree in mathematics from a good university.

2- Be accepted into graduate school (again at a good university).

3- Obtain a Masters degree in mathematics from a good university.

4- Obtain a PhD in mathematics from a good university.

5- Spend several years as a post-doc and/or lecturer while publishing numerous papers that include important results in reputable peer reviewed journals.

6- Get lucky and be at the right place at the right time to be offered a permanent job.

Procedure to become a Professor of Mathematics:-

To become a mathematics professor, the candidate has to study MSc in mathematics first.
After the post graduation you can appear for NET /SET examinations, the clearing of this will get you a job in government colleges as Lecturer. You have to study PhD in mathematics to become a professor.

Procedure to become a Professor of Mathematics:-

For maths professional job you need at least post graduation in mathematics subject. You will start as an lecturer in colleges and then experience you will become a professor. You need to complete PhD also to graduation in your career. If you qualify exams like NET/SET for getting job in government colleges as a lecturer. In private colleges you can get job on the basis of your performance in interview.

✓ Aspirants should obtain a Masters degree in mathematics from a good university.
