How to do PhD as a private candidate?


I am an Indian working as a teacher in Maldives. I wish to do PdD besides doing my job. I want to write on Maldives politics. I was awarded M.phill in 1990 from Vikram University MADHYAPRADESH; India. My guide was R.S gowtham. Now my question is from Maldives, to do PhD which is the best place to me ? if possible I want to do from western Universities.So help me if Internationally any university entertains a scholer just to register and submitt his thesis?

Yes, there are many universities which offer distance mode Ph.D programme in some subjects. If your subject can be studied in distance mode, then surely you will be eligible for admission.

Admission will be based on the performance in entrance exam and interview. Just apply on a prescribed format, when there is an admission notification.
