If you have completed master's degree with 55%
Marks then you are definitely eligible for PhD admission.
Admission is mostly based on merit through written exam and interview in most reputed Universities.
Those who have NET/SET qualification are exempted from entrance exam.q

The minimum eligibility criteria are that you must have passed a Master's degree with at least 55% marks from a recognized University or institute to be eligible for the Ph.D. course.

If you meet the above criteria, then you are eligible for Ph.D.
