I want to do Phd in library science part-time from IGNOU. I Have passed M. Lib in 2002 from IGNOU. At present I am Working as Asstt. Librarian(Library Incharge) in M.M. University-Solan (Himachal Pradesh).

If you have 55% marks in your M.Lib, then you will not have any problem in applying for Ph.D program from IGNOU. Although, candidates who belong to reserved category can avail 5% relaxation in marks.

As you have mentioned that you are working as Librarian and if your are working for at least 5 years, then you will be exempted from the entrance exam and can apply for Ph.D admission directly on the basis of your professional experience in library sciences.

Those who have qualified exams like UGC NET and SLET are also exempted from the IGNOU Ph.D entrance examination. For more information visit http://ignou.ac.in
