Those who want to be an Assistant professor or lecturer across India for them PhD is mandatory.
According to UGC rule only
UGC NET
CSIR NET
ICAR NET exam is the gateway or entry for becoming Assistant professor.

There are benefits of doing PhD as there are mainly two options after qualifying NET JRF, either one can make career in research or can join academic field.

PhD is not compulsory after qualifying for the NET examination. If you earn a PhD then your ranking and salary will be different. PhD is another degree that you need to pursue if you want to work as a professor in a college. Without PhD, you will be posted as a lecturer or assistant professor. However, there are many reputed colleges that ask for PhD even for the post of Assistant professor.
Do you have any question? or have anything to say?
