Candidates with Master’s Degree or M.Phil in Economics of the University of Delhi or any other recognized university and they must have scored 55% marks in Master’s Degree or 50% marks in M.Phil to apply for the admission to PhD in Economics in Delhi University. The admission to the PhD program will be through entrance examination and interview conducted by the University of Delhi. The above given is the admission procedure followed for taking admission in PhD Economics in Delhi University.
Candidates should have scored 55% marks in Master’s Degree to appear for the PhD entrance examination. They have to appear for an entrance examination for taking admission to the PhD program in Delhi University. The entrance examination syllabus will be based on the MA Economics syllabus. Candidates who are interested to pursue PhD after M.Com in Economics from Delhi University should have completed their master's degree with minimum 55% marks from a recognized college/university. Reserved category candidates will get marks relaxation as per government norms. With this eligibility candidates have to appear for an entrance examination conducted by the institute.

The institute sets a cut off marks to select the eligible candidates and it changes every year. The cut off marks depends on the following factors:
