Whether MPhil is mandatory to study PhD for MSc(Physics) postgraduate?

Hello everyone, I have completed my MSc in Physics from Patna University. I am very much interested of doing PhD in Physics. But many of my friends are telling me that MPhil is must to do before PhD. So, is it true?

Yes, M.Phil candidates are eligible for Ph.D course.

Those candidates who have completed masters degree with above 55% marks from a recognized University are eligible for Ph.D entrance.

For SC/ST candidate its 50% and above in masters degree.

There are no age criteria.

You must have a valid UGC NET score card.
Do you have any question? or have anything to say?
