Now I'm pursuing MCA from SRM University.It is not distance education. I will passout in 2015. I did BCA in distance learning mode from Maharshi Dayanand University Rohatk, Hariyana.In my UG, I got 1 backlog in 1st sememster.I want to give GATE 2015 exam. Am I eligible for government jobs as Software engineer?

Every candidate who is pursuing his/her final year graduation or MCA is eligible for GATE. As you have one backlog make sure you clear that by the time you appear for GATE.

Being a Software Engineer you are eligible for any government job. Moreover, as you are appearing for GATE, there are many Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) based on GATE score.

After getting a good rank in GATE, you will be called for an interview from these PSUs and based on your performance in the interview, you will be selected.
