Software Engineering is a profession which deals with the designing, the implementing and the  altering of  software which is of a higher class, more reasonably priced, faster to build and maintainable.  Computer software engineers can be separated into two groups: (i) applications engineers and (ii) systems engineers. The job of a software engineer is to examine the needs of the user, and construct, design, maintain, and install general computer applications software. They use programming languages like C, C++, Java, and Python etc.

Qualifying Exam

Aspirants who wish to be a software engineer can go for B.Tech in software engineering after the completion of their class 10+2.  They can then join institutes like the GNIIT or NIIT. The admissions to these institutions are based on the merit scored in the All India Engineering Entrance Exam (AIEEE).  Most of the people who employ software engineers prefer candidates with an experience in a variety of computer systems. Candidates can join in reputed companies as interns before they seek jobs. They will thus become familiar with the field of software engineering and they will be more experienced and knowledgeable.

Who is eligible to apply?

The candidate should be an Indian citizen and he/she must not be more than 21 years of age at the time of applying. All the candidates applying must have at least a Bachelor’s Degree in software engineering from a recognized institution.

How to prepare for exam and interview

The candidate should be prepared thoroughly. He/she should be aware of the essentials and basics of the subject. They should keep on practicing model question papers and try to complete it within the time limit. The candidate should always answers straight to the point. He/she will be required to give a summary on the topic being discussed.
