Re: Which is best to pursue - M.Sc in Plant Pathology or M.Sc in Nematology?
# As both M.Sc Plant Pathology and M.Sc Nematode are good career option. But as per my view M.Sc Plant Pathology has little bit more advantageous than M.Sc Nematode.
# I would like to go for pursuing M.Sc. Plant Pathology without any hesitation. # Plant Pathology is a branch of science which primarily deals in the detailed study of diseases of plants associated with virus, bacteria, fungi, microbes, nematodes etc. # After successful completion of M.Sc. in Plant Pathology, there are ample job opportunities. Few major recruiters are mentioned below: * Agrochemical Companies * Botanical Gardens * Biotechnology Firms * Universities and Colleges * Tissue Culture Laboratories * Government Forest Department * Agricultural Consulting Companies * Plant Disease Diagnostic Laboratories * Environment Protection Agency * Gardens * Agricultural Firms * Seed Producing Companies * Agricultural Research # Names of few universities offering master degree in Plant Pathology are: * Gujarat Agricultural University (GUJ) * Birsa Agricultural University (BAU) * C.S. Azad University of Agriculture & Technology * Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI) * Kerala Agricultural University (KAU) * Assam Agricultural University (AAU) * Himachal Pradesh Krishi Viswavidyalaya * Haryana Agricultural University * Acharya N.G. Ranga Agricultural University * G.B. Pant University of Agricultural & Technology * Marathwada Agricultural University *Jawaharlal Nehru Krishi Viswa Vidyalaya * Bidhan Chandra Krishi Viswavidyalaya * Konkan Krishi Vidyapeeth * Indira Gandhi Krishi Viswa Vidyalaya |

Both plant pathology and Nematology have adequate scope. Although these fields are still at its infant stage in India, but there is good scope and it is expected that the scope will increase in the future. You should choose the course as per :-
- Your personal interest and comfort. - Your grip in the fundamentals of the field. - Your future goals and choice of field in which you want your profession to be set up. |
