Can I apply for NET? I have done MBA from SMU in correspondence mode. So, I can apply or not for NET? Kindly tell me immediately.

SMU is Sikkim Manipal University. This university is approved by UGC and Distance Education Council, so you can apply for NET exam as it degree is valid for entrance exams.

NET is National Eligibility Test. UGC conducts this exam twice every year in June and December for Lectureship and Junior Research Fellowship.

For this exam, you must have at least 55% marks in master's degree. There is no upper age limit for Lectureship but upper age limit for JRF is 28 years.

Important dates for December, 2015 NET exam is already over, you must wait for June 2016 exam.

You have done MBA from SMU in correspondence mode so you are eligible for UGC NET exam.

Those candidates who have completed masters degree from a recognized university with above 55% marks from a recognized university are eligible UGC NET exam. 5% relaxation is given for SC/ST category candidates. Final year student are also eligible for UGC NET exam.

There is no age criteria for NET exam but for JRF posts, your age should be below 28 years.
