Sir, I have completed M.Tech in Remote Sensing and GIS Application from Tamilnadu and I have around 6 years of working experience. My skill sets are in ArcGIS, Arc View, Geomedia, Global Mapper, Quantum GIS, Map Window, Map Info Professional, ERDAS, Envi, Microstation, Auto CAD, SQL Server, Windows Server, 7 & XP. Can you please guide me for a better job opportunities either in India or abroad?

• Enhance your skills and certifications: Pursue additional courses and certifications in spatial analysis, image processing, database management, cloud computing, etc. to strengthen your profile. • Target companies in sectors like government, defense, infrastructure, telecom, real estate, natural resources, consulting, etc. This includes companies such as ESRI, MapmyIndia, Trimble, Maxar, DLR, NWGIS, etc. As well as government organizations like ISRO, SAC, NRM, etc.


• Apply to international opportunities on sites like Indeed, Monster, Glassdoor as well as company websites. Meet eligibility criteria for work visas and be ready to clear interviews via video calls. Countries with good job prospects include US, Canada, Australia, UK, etc.
• You can also consider self-employment options such as freelancing, consulting or starting your own GIS solutions business. Make use of your experience and expertise. Build a strong portfolio of worksamples and case studies.
• Pursue research opportunities to enhance your profile. Some options are PhD in GIS Science or related areas, Post-doctoral research, Research engineer/scientist positions etc. Research profiles are highly valued.
• Stay up-to-date with new technologies, software tools and innovations in the geospatial domain. Continuous learning will make you a strong candidate. Take MOOCs, read publications and join professional networks.
• Work on your soft skills such as communication, problem-solving, leadership, business development, etc. which will be useful for senior roles and managerial positions.
