Ch BP Govt. Engineering College B.Tech Civil Engineering 3rd Sem Structural Analysis-I Papers are designed to test the student’s knowledge of the fundamental concepts of this subject. Topics from which questions can be asked include simple strain, Mohr’s circle and the values of Mohr’s circle when other data like principle stresses are already mentioned, the assumptions and disadvantages of a flexure formula, the various theorems which play an important role like Betti’s theorem and Castigliano’s theorems, the various assumptions for the derivation of torsion formula and so on. The number of numerical questions asked in this paper is quite considerable. Most numerical have certain portions of the data given and the student is expected to calculate other values like elongation of plates under axial force, cross sectional areas of steel bars, bending movement and shear force, the calculation of stress and strain values when others are provided, and so on.
