The paper CE 201 is Survey-I paper and is a third semester paper for those pursuing Civil Engineering Course in any college affiliated to the Punjab Technical University. This paper is equally important as other subjects in the 3rd Semester of Civil Engineering and students have to study hard from the very beginning of the semester as there are internal exams for every subject.

Division of the paper

This is a 100 mark subject which has 60 marks for the external exam and 40 marks for the internals. The external exam has three sections each of 20 marks.

Section A is a compulsory section with a single question having ten parts. Section B and C both allow the student to choose among the questions. Whereas a student has to attempt 4 questions out of 5 in Section B, he has to attempt only 2 questions out of the three given in Section C.

Marking Scheme and Paper pattern

Each part of the question of Section A is worth 2 marks and has generally short answers like definitions, differentiating between two things or naming the types of something. As we move towards Section B the length of the answers increases with the marks. With each question having 5 marks certainly the amount of information to be presented in questions of this section is more than that of Section A. Section C has ten marks questions.
