Engineering Mathematics, as introduced by Cochin University from the time it opened its faculty of science, is based entirely on mathematics which has a crucial role to play in engineering sciences. It delves into the problems and theorizes explanations to solve them. The chapters define the problems from different perspectives and help students learn to solve them using the conventional laws of mathematics. This application of reasoning is a critical area and the course takes that into account. It gives students a boost to take up all kinds of engineering jobs with confidence as they are now in a position to not just understand the themes but also correct the errors or change the faulty systems with their knowledge. The central topics of this subject are vectors and matrices (highlighting the areas of calculus) and the questions are asked along these lines. The program also works on the skills required for students to decipher problems. Maximum Marks has been set as 100 and questions are 10 in number, but only 5 must be attempted that to by answering 1st or 2nd questions, then 3rd or 4th question and so on.
