There are five questions in all and all questions offer internal choice. The candidates must attempt all questions. some of the questions are: draw the flowchart for FDLF method for ‘n’ bus power system having both PV and PQ buses, state all the assumptions made in decoupled load flow method in order to obtain FDLF algorithm, write a short note on “optimal power flow”, explain gradient method or linear programming method for optimal power flow, explain generation shift factor and line outage distribution factor for security of power system, explain Bewles Lattice diagram and state its usefulness in studying performance of traveling waves on power system, explain state estimation by orthogonal decomposition, compare backward Euler’s method and trapezoidal method in context to application of these methods in large scale power systems, what are the SLFE equations for load flow study and give bus classification stating the importance of each component in load flow study etc.
