IETE DIPIETE-CS (New Scheme) Computer Organization Papers cover a wide range of topics from which a number of questions can be asked. Some of the more common topics from which questions are likely to be asked include basic performance equation of computers, full forms of terms like SPEC, Booth’s algorithm, definition of terms like IEEE, difference between micro-programmed control and hardwired control, wait for memory function and the various steps needed to complete the function, explanation of various kinds of cache mapping functions, various methods of handling multiple I/O devices and so on. Longer questions can be asked on the detailed evolution of computer systems, short notes on multicomputer and multiprocessor, byte addressability, Big Endian assignment, Little Endian assignment and so on. The papers are concept based with scope for numerical based questions which can be fairly high scoring and interesting. The student must be prepared for the same.
