IFS stand for Indian Forest Services. The IFS exam is under the control of UPSC and is conducted every year for the recruitment of eligible candidates for the Indian Forestry Services. There are two compulsory papers and two optional subjects’ papers. The two compulsory papers are General English and General Knowledge. For optional subjects the candidates have plenty of options. For optional subjects there are 14 options out of which 2 subjects are to be selected. For every subject there will be two papers of 200 marks each. In total IFS exam is of 1400 marks (300*2+200*4). After the written test the selected candidates are interviewed by a board of interviewers to test the candidate’s suitability for the post.
