The Karnataka Secondary Examination Board conducts the SSLC examination every year. Among the subjects which the students can chose as their first language is English. The exam of the subject is a three hour exam of 125 marks. There are two sections in the paper. The first section has all multiple choice type questions. Section B consists of a variety of questions. There are short answer type questions carrying 2 marks. Some questions are of 4 marks. Questions from poetry are also there. Students have to answer the question from their memory. These questions are of 4 marks. Questions based on Grammar are also asked. Composition is also there in the exam.
