The Biochemistry papers of the end-semester examinations are clearly divided into three sections with objective type questions, short notes and descriptive questions. There is plenty of choice in the questions and students can easily score very high marks if they have their basics correct. The objective type questions are filling in the blank type questions and completing the sentences. Some of the questions are name of the bond in the primary structure of protein, what is Zwitter ion, composition of depot fats of mammalian cells etc. Short notes require more in-depth knowledge, questions such as elemental sources of purine, inhibitors of ETC, differences between nucleotides and nucleosides. The long answer questions are of 15 marks each. Diagrams should be provided to enhance the quality of the answers. Detailed description of the Watson and Crick model of DNA, HMP shunt pathway and its significance are some common questions and important topics.
