The Computer Hardware Design is more related to Computer Science Department but is also included for Electronic and Telecommunication Branch as it has some application over there as well. The course structure is based on computer hardware and software basic structure, functional units, instruction format, addressing modes, macros and subroutines, processor design, decimal arithmetic operations, floating point and fixed point arithmetic addition, multiplication, subtraction, division, classification of parallel structures, machine and assembly language programming, BCD adder, ALU design, parallel processing, structure of general purpose multiprocessors, control design, memory organization, pipelining basic concept, system organization, tree networks, BCD subtraction, mesh networks, input output systems, ring networks, CPU control unit, multiplier control unit, virtual memory, cache memory, micro-programmed computers, array processors, structure of general purpose management. Though the subject is not for ECE, but they need in for their communication part. The paper is fully dedicated for subjective questions which are 8 in number, but don’ worry you only need to answer 5 (all of 20 marks).
