The subject of History and Archaeology is a good option for anyone who is interested in collecting information from the ancient civilization. The history of modern Europe is a great choice for Archaeologist as it has a large number of archaeological sites and a rich history. The paper has ample options for the candidates to choose their questions to answer as only 50% of the total questions should be answered i.e. 5 out of 10. Equal marks division of 16 marks makes this paper to be of 80 marks. Some questions which appear more frequently are subaltern studies, European historiography, relative importance and interpretation of facts and history, collection of ancient items, ancient languages etc. Some books that can be followed are History of modern Europe by S P Nanda and History of modern Europe by C A Fyffe. Along with the books one should also go through various test papers and questions papers to know the type of questions and pattern so that they can plan their answer accordingly.
