Mumbai University is one of the leading universities in engineering field. Civil engineering is the most prestigious of all in the university. In its seventh semester there is a subject called irrigation engineering. The subject is a core topic in the civil engineering department. Soil is always an important consideration in building any structure. So here comes the requirement of irrigation technology. In the question paper, questions are asked generally from the topics like water requirement of crops and soil-water relationship, hydrology, lift irrigation, flow irrigation, canal section, canal lining, drainage channel design, design of irrigation canal, weir and barrage, canal falls, dam, inland navigation, reservoir planning water management and water laws, flood control works, water logging and watershed management and various other topics related to irrigation. The questions are very much straight forward and if well prepared with basic concepts and technical details, it should not be a troublesome paper for any student.
