The code number of the Network Security paper is CS 503. The question paper has eight questions of which the student has to answer five. Each question carries 20 marks. The questions are all theoretical; some of the important questions are explanation of the DODB network topology and why this protocol is unfair. Security requirements of wireless networks, main elements of GSM System architecture, reasons for separate MS in SIM and GSM, what is mobile IP and description Mobile IP architecture and its functional components with diagrams, discussing the various types of fast access technologies, justification of the need of IP along with other security features etc are important topics for the question papers. Students should also study for short notes which are a staple question each year. Important topics for short notes are Digital signature, IP Multicasting, IP V6 vs. IP V4, ADSL, Wireless Ethernet, Session Hijacking, Qos, Digital Certificates and more.
