Developmental Psychology explores the entire array of psychological domains through the different life stages. An introductory part of the syllabus is on principles of development including developmental patterns. The syllabus resource calls attention to the prenatal conditions of birth that are nutritious and hazardous for the growth of the foetus. After the base for the environmental factors of birth are settled, the core syllabus area shifts to the post-natal period. This includes the effects of birth on development, physical development, motor development, speech development, emotional development and social development. The precepts of social adjustment, play development, development of creativity, understanding and morality is also covered that generally rise from late childhood. Personality development of the child is a giant issue and that includes common childhood interests, family relationships and sex-role development. The major loci of development study then follow depending on the age from adolescence to early adulthood, middle age and old age.
