It mainly includes the basics about the materials used for the construction, properties and their applications. Components of buildings (floors, roofs, staircase) and types of masonry should be eyed upon.

Paper Pattern: It consists of vivid type of questions. Objective, subjective, diagrammatic sketches are included. Total number of questions is not constant. They may vary and the marks distribution also varies accordingly. All questions are to be answered. The choice may be provided for individual questions containing sub questions.

Time and Maximum marks: The duration of the exam is 3 hours and the marks allotted are 100.

Key Points: First question will be of objective type followed by sketches. The subjective type questions appear at the end of the paper. Objectives may include fill in the blanks, true or false type. Neat sketches will enhance the presentation and will give an edge over others. Lime, brick, metals as materials of construction, brick masonry can be expected.
