VTU, Bangalore 1st Semester Chemistry Cycle- Maths-I Papers are extremely high scoring if the student knows his concepts well and has the technical and intellectual acumen to tackle the paper in the correct manner. The topics from which questions may be asked include acute angles between two lines whose equations and direction cosines are provided, the angle made by a line with the four angles of a cube, equation of a plane passing through certain points whose coordinates are provided in the paper, equation of a right circular cone when the equation of a straight line and other relevant data are given, equation of a circular cylinder when the base angles are provided and o on. Other topics from which questions are bound to be asked include integration and differentiation, reduction formula, arches of cycloids and other geometrical figures, orthogonal trajectories, tests for the convergence of series and so on.
