WBUT 6th semester Data Communications and Networking paper is a combination of a mathematical and theory type paper. The paper is of 100 marks where 30 marks is institutions’ internal assessment and rest 70 marks is what the student has to write in the semester exams. The paper is divided into three parts-Section A, B and C. Section A contains 10 marks where questions are generally multiple choice types but sometimes true and false or objective questions also comes. Section B contains 15 marks where 3 questions are to be attempted and lastly Section C where also 3 questions are to be attempted but the questions are lengthy and 45 marks is allotted to this section where each question is of 15marks each. There are 4 credits in this paper. By solving previous year questions this paper can be easily tackled. The best book for this subject is Data Communications and Networking by B.A.Forouzan.
