Mathematics is the key to all sciences, and this is exactly the reason why is taught to every disciple of engineering. Mathematics is a part of the second semester curriculum of the Computer Science and Engineering degree offered by the West Bengal University of Technology. The entire paper is of 100 marks, in which 70 marks are carried by a 3 hours written exam and rest 30 marks are for internal assessment. There are three groups in the questions paper. The first group has multiple option type questions, 10 in all. Each of these questions has 1 mark. Group B has short answer type questions, five in number, out of which answering three will do. This group has all questions holding 5 marks. The last group or Group C has long answer questions. There are 4 or 5 or sometimes even 6 questions in this group with the choice of answering any three. The questions of this group hold 15 marks. Below are attached some of the previous year’s question papers.
