No, you need not pass in both of the exams individually in order to qualify in the subject of 12th standard in Maharashtra board. You will just have to secure a minimum of 35% in aggregate in order to be able to clear the paper.

Yes, definitely you need to qualify in both the theory as well as practical examination in order to qualify in the respective subject of class 12th Maharashtra Board.
You will be declared as a qualified student only when you qualify in both the papers, otherwise you will be detained. |

Yes it is compulsory to pass in both theory and practical examination separately. If you are pass in theory and you got less than pass marks in practical and vice versa then you will come in category fail category. Therefore, it is important to pass in both practical and theory in every board exam not only in Maharashtra Board Exams.

Re: Is it compulsory to pass both Theory and Practical exams separately to qualify in Chemistry of 12th Maharashtra Board exam?
As per the new norms, for passing in subject having both theory paper and practical paper one has to secure a minimum of 20% aggregate in both with a overall aggregate of 35% marks.
Earlier, only 35% aggregate in overall paper was only required as there was no compulsion of 20% marks in both paper. So as Chemistry paper do include both Theory paper and Practical Paper so you need to secure at least 20% marks in both the papers with overall aggregate of 35% to be considered as a pass candidate. |
