Home Science is a separate subject which is offered in all the ISC as well as ICSE stream. It is a subject which will help you further with the knowledge of food and nutrition. It is one of the good subject for girls who love to cook food so, going for this subject has no harm in it as it can be a good career oriented subject in future.
